All positions at ASIFA-SOUTH begins with volunteering. Sign up below to start your journey. If you would like to get involved with us on a regular basis, you can earn EXP points.
VOLUNTEERS
POINT SYSTEM:
You gain 1 PT for every 2 hr event
Example - If you volunteer for 4.5 hour event, you will receive 2.50 pts. Once you reach 5 EXP points to qualify for our liaison interest application.
Year Round Volunteer Needs
We're always looking for passionate, creative folks to join our volunteer crew! Whether you're into animation, community building, events, or marketing, there’s a place for you here.
As a committee member with ASIFA-South, you'll get to:

Most roles are remote and take about 5 hours a week. Perfect for students, professionals, or anyone looking to give back to the animation and arts community.
*All positions are unpaid volunteer position with stipend for approved travel & meals based on relevant activities.

Don't have the experience listed below? Please don't let that deter you from applying. We offer volunteer training and onboarding to all our committee members. We just ask for the time commitment. Position renews yearly.

🔹 Virtual | ~ 20 hours a month
Meetings: 2nd Sunday 11:30 AM ET + one department meeting/month
Location: Virtual (optional in-person events with travel/food stipend)
Description: Help keep communication flowing smoothly between departments and partners. You’ll work with a department director to ensure updates are passed along and everyone stays on the same page.
Ideal Candidate: Proactive, fast at responding, good communications and notetaking skills. Ability to use Google suite including gmail. Familiarity with SLACK. Have flexibility in time. Able to attend online meetings.
Newsletter Coordinator
Marketing Department
🔹 Virtual | ~ 20 hours a month
🔹 Send engaging email updates
🔹 Join monthly marketing meeting
🔹 Travel + meal stipend for approved volunteer event
Meetings: 2nd Sunday 11:30 AM ET + monthly marketing meeting/ month
Location: Virtual (optional in-person events with travel/food stipend)
Description: Help shape and send our newsletters! You'll work with the marketing team to write and schedule email updates and share our community’s stories. Update membership and supporters with partner events, news, internal events.
Ideal Candidate: Can use mailchimp, WIX, mailmerge and CSV spreadsheet
